Form rejection - not too surprising.

Sad. Was my top choice, but of course I didn't actually expect to get in. Got an email to check the website; letter was actually sweet.

Standard rejection letter

Mail says they don’t have enough funding now and are waiting to see if more funding will come through between now and April

The application process was such a nightmare (had to start three new applications and ask all my recommenders to submit their letters twice, sent multiple unanswered emails to several people asking for technical help with the buggy online platform) that by the time it was over I didn't want to attend anyway.

Not disappointed at all, since I already got into my dream program.

POI had already sent a very kind email explaining what went wrong. Not too bummed at this point.

No worries, poor fit.

email to check portal. already had a good offer so it's not too depressing.

Email with password and instructions to check website. Not surprised as it wasn't my best fit. Congrats to everyone who got in! :)

To the poster of UCLA NELC, what is your subfield?

My first admission! I am awaiting funding notification by the beginning of March.

Email from POI

"Thank you for applying to graduate study at UCLA. We regret to inform you that you are not being offered admission. UCLA receives many more applications than there are student places available. Each of these applications is carefully reviewed by a departmental faculty committee. In this extremely competitive environment, many talented and promising students are not recommended for admission by these committees. We understand that this decision is disappointing, and again, there are many more applications than there are places available. Inquiries about your application or the decision may be submitted in writing to English, Attn: Graduate Admissions Officer... ...Please accept my best wishes for success in all your future endeavors."
