Yes I think so too, I did not see any relationship between admissions and GPA or GRE scores, it is a little mystery. But yes I'm really pissed with the Uni which has no sense of whatsoever. You gotta understand that it's students who are waiting for results: all you gotta do is update, rejected or waitlisted than make them wait till the end with hopes lingering and rejecting them on their face. Pathetic.

Got an email to check my portal. Small scholarship... still not sure I can afford it though

TTPB: I HIGHLY doubt that its based on just GPA... I have a near 4.0 GPA and submitted my application all the way back in early January, and yet I still haven't heard anything from the program. I saw many admitted people who posted on here with lower GPA and/or GRE scores than mine, so I don't think its sorted by GPA/GRE at all.

e-mailed to check status update today. Accepted off waitlist after a month of the waitlist notification. Offered 20k scholarship. I've committed elsewhere.

Ignore WL: Anyone have any idea when we might hear? Emailed the program coordinator who just directed me back to the department website, which doesn't have many details. Should I just assume a rejection at this point?

Rejected from UAlberta, UBC and McGill. I'm trying not to associate the rejections with my self-worth at this point. 1 year full-time research experience. 2 AAAI, 1 ICLR and 1 Springer Nature papers. 1 in review at TPAMI and 1 in review at ICCV. Strong LoRs from Google Brain and Institute Chair Prof at IIT-Bombay. 1 AI startup internship, 2 research internships at top-tier labs, 2xGSoC in AI/ML. Strong research fit with profs and several National Awards. Congratulations to those who made it!

So the results will be uploaded on 30th? A few observations, saw the profiles of the candidates who have been accepted. Was surprised to see the profiles and wondered if the Ivy league status is as selective as they claim. It is not tough to get in, just a lil bit of luck, have seen generic profiles make in. If mass rejections are coming up then Columbia must face consequences of wasting 3.5 months for doing so, an applicant pays money to be reviewed and needs answers to decide on other programs and get Visas as well. Reflects extremely poor on the program and University. All the best guys, brace yourselves.rn

For the WL, we are finally almost there. they said April 30. So, only two more days to go. After that if you don't receive any response from them. Then, you defiantly need to give up on them :p. I am waiting for their response too thou I have a strong feeling it is a rejection with a small hope of acceptance

Sent an email and was notified they do not plan on making any new offers. We shall get our rejection next week.

TTPB: (Ignore WL) And to add to that, even if you do get accepted, they would only give you 2 weeks to make a decision and a $4,000 security deposit to pay (which is a lot). I submitted my application 5 months ago and still no status. I feel like I should just give up at this point lol.

Ignore WL: This is getting unacceptable... and it's hurting my ability to decide on other schools... If this is how serious they treat us as applicants, I think it reflects on the integrity of the program as well...

Interviewed by two POIs of the same group. One POI said my app was strong but the number of applicants was immense. The other interviewed me twice, once before deadline and then in January. Not sure what happened here.

Generic rejection email. Applied for M.Sc. (Ph.D. track). Had a discussion with a PI mentioned in the application, but he didn't have any open position in his group.
