Just following up on my acceptance because Texas State reached out about decisions before info on funding was released. I recently found out I was awarded an IA/TAship for the 3 years of the program, which means tuition is covered and I'll be getting a modest stipend (on top of other scholarship opportunities through the English department once there). Majority of the students at Texas State get this or some form of full-funding/the equivalent of full-funding, so I have to say that I think the program is really under the radar and I feel really lucky to have gotten in! 3a/1w/10r/6p

I emailed to ask my status, and they told me that while notifications weren't out yet, I hadn't been accepted.

I emailed to ask my status, and they emailed me back a scanned copy of my rejection letter.

Alas, wait-listed for funding, but still some good news to start the week off with.

A nice surprise! 1a/2w/2r/3p

Is anyone accepted to Helen Zell for poetry that's planning on declining their offer?

Funny story: I only saw the preview of the email on my phone and assumed I'd been rejected. I read the full email a couple hours later. A very nice surprise! 2r/2w/1a/3p

Emailed asking for an application status since this was one of the few places I haven't heard back from and received an informal rejection in reply saying official decisions will be going out soon.

"short waitlist"

Honestly kind of a relief. I'm on the waitlist and accepted to better schools and from what I have heard alumni from this program haven't done much since 1990. Good luck to everyone else, though! 1a/6w/7r/2p
