To the WCU poster below- I completely understand how you feel. WCU has an extremely low acceptance rate- sways between 7 and 8 percent each year re: ASHA EdFind. Typically, they accept their own students first, who qualify, then go to their pool of other applicants as they receive their replies back. While they do rank lower, the ranking of the school really doesn't matter as long as the school is ASHA accredited in the time frame of your enrollment. I believe WCU is popular because of their location. I know several people who have applied here, gotten in most of their other schools (which yes are ranked higher, but have considerably higher acceptance rates), and still haven't heard from WCU - knowing the waitlist timeline they post. I'm not saying the way they do it is right or wrong, and at least it sounds like you had your pick of some awesome schools!

Still haven't heard... shocked because I got into every other school I applied to that are almost all ranked much much higher. Just annoyed I spent the money and time on the application at this point. I only still care for my 100% acceptance rate and a chance to turn their inconsiderate program down ASAP so someone else who is also waiting but actually wants to go can get their response sooner. Thank god this wasn't my dream school, but I'll definitely be telling future friends applying to not even bother. What a joke of a school.

I interviewed at Queens College in February and still have not heard back. I called April 12th (before the April 15th acceptance date) and they said they have not made a decision yet. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing????

Has anyone gotten a notification from ULM? Accepted, rejected, waitlisted? Stats?

Accepted via ORPAS and email. sGPA = 3.79. Volunteer experience with children in a school setting and adults with dysphagia (75 hours total at the time of applying). Extensive research experience in two language related labs. Academic and clinical references were strong as all referees knew me very well.

Sent an email to the program asking about the status of the application. Was sent a reply email saying letters would be sent out this week.

Has anyone who was on the waitlist been contacted with an offer for the residential program? I am on the waitlist but haven't heard anything since receiving an email that the coordinator was out during the week of 4/15. If anyone that was originally waitlisted hear back, please post. Thanks!

To the poster below, I was accepted to their on campus program with average GRE scores (v:148, q:147 w:4.0). I also have an aversge GPA (high major GPA though); however I believe my volunteer experience is what got me accepted. So i can't say because it's different for everyone but for me, I guess my scores didn't matter too much.

Hoping someone could give me insight. Not sure if I should retake the GRE due to my awful standardized test taking skills. I am applying to the online program and want to be sure the GRE is not the only factor holding me back. Any input is appreciated!

Not many declining WCU's offer - think they pulled a lot from their current undergrads who met their requirements

Got an email today saying the cohort was full but could remain on the waitlist if spots became available in the summer. Remaining on the waitlist in hopes a spot becomes available later on.

This program is so unorganized and unprofessional. They are taking SO long to give decisions this is unheard of. Most programs have gotten back to me already.
