A potential supervisor asked me to apply, yet now got rejected

Rejected from Ph.D. and accepted to Masters. Got Ph.D. offers so going to reject.

Canadian from Canadian University. 4th year GPA is 3.9/4.0.

TTPB: I'm waiting too, just why

Still haven't heard anything but gotten into a top school already. Didn't know adcoms could be this slow at sending a reject.

Anyone still waiting to hear back?

TTPB that contacted Barry. I emailed him earlier today but didn't get a response so I decided to phone him and he gave me this same response: "Thank you for your query. We appreciate your patience while you wait for the decision on your application. Due to the fact that we are past the April 15 reply deadline, my best estimate is that your application is denied at this point. Please note that I am only providing this estimate in the event that you have schools and programs that you need to reply to with your decision. We do expect the decision on your application to be forthcoming very soon, being that we are quite late with the evaluation process." He also mentioned that there's still a chance that I might be admitted so there's still reason to keep our hopes up.

TTPB: Congrats, what track? Did you see the update yesterday or today. I want to know if there is anyhope beyong April 15. i am for DICE track.

Called their graduate admission coordinator at 5pm est

They gave me MS admit instead. Did my MS already. Declined the offer. Going for PhD in Optical Science from UCF.

TTPB: I have just sent a mail to Barry waiting for his response. If his estimates turn out to be correct then that would be largely unfair on their part, for them not to deem it fit to keep us informed on time, sigh. (DICE Option)

Does Austin give out any admits after 15th April? Or is it over for Fall-2019?

TTPB: My undergrad university is Delhi Technological University, India (formerly Delhi College of Engineering). I stand in top 1.5% of my undergrad batch. Had 1 international publication at the time of application. Working in the semiconductor industry for last 22 months as a Digital Design Engineer.
