Hey, IIT guy below. Which track did you apply to? What was the mail about? PhD offer or interview? Can you please elaborate your profile like scores and research experience?

IIT 8.5/10. Applied for MS and not PhD. Email from POI.

I got unofficial confirmation from the POI 3 days before and got the official confirmation from the school today. I have two published journal papers (Impact factor > 3.5) published and 4 conference papers (one in the USA).

I got contacted by a professor whose research interests do not quite match with mine. Are the interviews for general admission? Was it the case for the posters below?

TTPB: 1 top conference paper in electronic design automation (EDA). 1 top journal paper in ML optimization. 1 top conference paper under review (EDA). participated in 2 international contests and ranked high. Interviewed with a professor from computer architecture. Sorry, I'm not comfortable sharing the initials. Good luck!

Received an Email from the admission office. Interviewed with a professor not mentioned in SOP when my application was under review.
