Originally applied to the SUSDEV specialization, but they emailed me saying that they think I am better suited for the environmental policy and planning track instead! Very exciting!!

Email notification of application update just now. Saw the acceptance on the website but with ZERO funding. "Congratulations! I am pleased to notify you of your acceptance into the Mechanical Engineering - Engineering Mechanics Doctoral program for Fall 2022. You are a self-supported student." How am I expected to pay for a Ph.D.? Good that I have other offers.

Was not expecting this. Sad

:(

Received an email stating that I am being recommended for admission to Rackham and that funding information will be sent soon. So excited!

FOR EVERYONE WHO DIDN'T GET IN ***** The Rackham Graduate School will discontinue using the Graduate Record Examination general test in Rackham Ph.D. admissions decisions, beginning with the 2022-23 admissions cycle. Dean Mike Solomon announced the decision Wednesday with the unanimous support of the Rackham Executive Board. *****

sign, not interview reject

Bits Pilani. Did not submit GRE.

I figured out that my application had made it through the first round of denials! Does anyone else have heard something like that? I am extremely looking for any news! This is my top option.

Just checked the portal. Wish they would have had the courtesy to notify us via email earlier.

GPA is master's. No interview. Area studies background with a grad certificate in media. Strong LOR, no previous contact with POI, no publication, a year of TA during master study, one conference presentation, and several relevant summer workshops. A good, original master thesis is proved to be helpful according to the greeting email from the supervisor.
