To the two late admit posts: Congratulations! I have a question. Can you guys share the time of your email? I want to see if they sent out these few admissions at the same time or not.

Was rejected a few years ago and reapplied this year. Don't give up!

Admission stats for MIT Sloan PhD Program: 19 accepted students from ~600 applicants (3% rate), distributed in 9 research groups.

Has anyone heard back from MIT CEE?

I have never seen a people who applied(or interviewed) for Affective Computing, I've never contacted by them. No news. I was just hopeful since I've never seen Affective Computing candidate, now you take all my chance since I'm applying with 2.7 GPA :) . I applied for only Masters btw.

TPB who got into EAPS: Would you mind sharing more details on your notification? Did you get an official / unofficial email by the graduate office / POI? Do you know if all acceptances have been sent out already? Would be really grateful for any further info!

I took a bit of an unconventional path in my academic career. I graduated high school in 2001, and joined the air force shortly after the 9/11 attacks. I flew an F-35 for 13 years, frequently dealing with very practical technical issues. I know this doesn't give me the "theoretical" background that an aerospace engineer should have, but I definitely know the ins and outs of aircraft pretty f**king well. I then completed my Bachelor's and Master's in Aerospace Engineering at Harvard, graduating with a 3.92 GPA, and publishing 3 papers (2 first author, 1 second author) related to stability and control. Clearly, MIT values "theory" more than real world experience cause I sure as hell know wayyyyy more about how to actually operate aircraft than any of those snobby, couch potato, ad com faculty members. Also doesn't help that I'm in my 30's I suppose. I'm really going to miss Boston...
