Hep-theory. Official acceptance from the department director via email, email included founding info. This is my first option, so I am going to accept the offer :). 1 publication at the time of application, research experience on different subfields, strong letters of recommendation. Best wishes for everyone applying.

Hep-theory. Informal acceptance from supervisor who told me to expect official acceptance as soon as the faculty starts handing them out. This was my first option from all my other applications, so I am going to accept the offer :). 1 publication at the time of application, research experience on different subfields, strong letters of recommendation.

GPA is from Masters. Received personal email from POI with an invitation to an informal chat about my research interests. GRE: Verbal - 168, Quant - 161, AW - 5.0

The faculty meeting was today. Got an email from PI. Not comfortable sharing initials.

Informal acceptance (the PI said this will almost certainly translate into a formal acceptance, esp. for a native English speaker)
