Heartbroken :(

I am an MA student at Yale, but was not very optimistic as the advisor I am working with is retiring and "the fit" would be a stretch therefore.

When are the results expected guys? Any news?? People who got interviewed, any news?

Grateful they let me know this early and didn’t hold onto rejections until mid-March

Just a response to the other AS guy on here -- no, I haven't heard back yet either. Honestly your post was a sight for sore eyes! It feels like every other department at Yale has started to send out responses but I've got radio silence from Yale. I have not been contacted for an interview, and I'm unsure if that's standard practice in the AS department at Yale. It looks like other departments had interviews, but historically it doesn't look like Yale AS interviews, though the joint programs might. It also looks like in past years AS hasn't sent out decisions until the last week of February, so we may have a bit of waiting left to go! Hang in there!

100% expected as it wasn't the best fit and I didn't connect with my PoI very effectively. Good to have the final confirmation, and congratulations to those who got in!

Not surprised, but still sad. I thought I had a decent chance at being accepted because I felt like I had a strong application but oh well. Good luck to all!

Has anyone heard anything back from the American Studies department? Did people get interviews? Is that a part of the process? I am trying to figure out if I should still be feeling exciting anticipation or cry tears of closure and move on with my life. To anyone reading; we're all in this together and you will be ok!
