Generic rejection, letter dated Jan. 31

I got an email from my potential PI a little over a week ago letting me know that the department accepted me, and I just got the official acceptance email yesterday! Solid but not super high GPA, average GRE scores, lots of research experience, 2 field schools, spoke to two ASU profs during the application process, and I think my drive and passion was evident in my application

Email from director of graduate studies. To the 2 people offered positions in the biological anthropology track, if you don't plan to accept please let them know!! This is my ideal program.

To the GWU posters, were the interview invitations specifically for sociocultural, or did it seem like all subfields were notified? Best of luck in your interviews!

Not a personalized email, I think all requests have likely gone out.

Applied for Jan deadline, nothing heard yet, expected wait is 6+ weeks, it is agonising! Posters below did you apply for the Jan deadline?

Have not heard back from them since the interview.

Emailed by DGS inviting me to Department Open House in mid February. Decision made after visit. We’ll see how it goes.

Re: the poster below. Wado! (Thank you!) It seems very much like a copy-paste email. The only personalization was my name at the beginning. Though it did come directly from the Deputy Chair, and I emailed back immediately (they ask if you're still interested, if you have funding elsewhere, if you want to visit, and when you can interview) and have gone back and forth with the DC this afternoon in regards to everything they're wanting to know, so it's at least been personal after the initial email. ALSO, I just saw I put incorrect GRE scores. My verbal is higher than what I posted. Whoops!

To the CUNY poster below: first of all, congratulations! Second, did the email seem like a form e-mail, or was it personalized? Your notes make me think it was the former, but I would be eager to hear your thoughts.

Email from Admissions Committee member. They are starting interviews now (I'm ling anth), hoping to enroll 13 students in sociocultural and ling anth -- 9 with full-tuition and a stipend, 4 tuition-only. Email states decisions will hopefully be made the end of February, and I am invited to visit campus if I can. (*GPA is from MA; thank goodness I have research/in-field experience to counteract my poor GRE scores.)

Anybody hear back from Berkeley yet (after interviews)?
