Short and sweet letter saying my application was denied. No bitterness. This is a super competitive career we're getting ourselves into. It's just part of the game.

Email from Thomas Didato. Accepted into program, "VERY high" on waitlist for assistantship. Will only be consider if offered funding. (To anyone hopeful, I'll most likely be passing even if offered funding.) Still really honored to get an acceptance. (2a/3r/0w)

Polite, personalized rejection notice. I'm assuming notifications are going out in alphabetical order. In case you're wondering, my last name starts with G. Congrats to those who got in!

So excited that I'm still in the running. First slightly positive news on the grad school front. 0A/1W/1R

Does anyone know when Montana notifies us about funding?

Awww, they're nice.

I can't stop crying. I've burst blood vessels in my eyes and chapped my nostrils bright red with paper towels from the men's room at my terrible job. I'm not using the (slightly) softer toilet paper, because I don't deserve it.

No idea on funding. But I'm counting this as a win while I wait around for other fully funded programs.

During the last six weeks, our faculty members have read a large group of applications for admission to the Helen Zell Writers’ Program. This was among the most impressive group of applicants in the program's history, and also the most numerous. Places are very limited, however, and we have been able to make offers to only a small number of applicants. We regret to say that your application for admission was not successful. Please know that our decision is meant to deny neither your talent nor your prospects—it is simply our collective judgment that others have first claim on our attention for now. We wish you every success in pursuing further study. And you are of course invited to apply again in the future.

Has anyone else not heard from Michigan? Emailed them over a week ago bc website showed my transcripts weren't received even though both were. Haven't heard back in 8 days... Starting to get anxious!

Top school. Fuck this shit.

Fingers crossed.
