Rejected via email. Good GPA, GRE score and papers. I thought I had a great shot, given how well the interview went and the fit with them. 2nd reject of the season.

No interview. Please have hope if you haven't heard back for an interview. When I received this phone call to be accepted, I was told that some students are interviewed, some are not, and that people in both situations can be accepted or rejected. This is the case for other schools too, including UCLA and Stanford (I have friends at both who got accepted without any communication until the acceptance call, not even an interview). Keep your fingers crossed!!

No GRE or any professional work experience; a year studying in Japan; several internships, including abroad; very involved on campus; part-time research assistant; speak fluent Russian and intermediate Japanese. Pretty good LORs and SoP. So excited because this is the only school I applied for!

Received an mail letting me know to check the application portal. The application portal had a letter of admission letting me know my research area with full tuition covered and stipend. Email a little while later from my potential adviser.
