Biophysics Theory! What a relief as almost every other school rejected me. Good luck to everyone else!

TTPB; I was told by my POI by email that they had a ranking & I was 5th, not in the official email. When I emailed the admissions contact they said they didn't have a ranking, so actually not sure atm.

A professor at MIT I know informed me that this year most graduate student spots are awarded in gravitational physics and less spots are available in other fields. His guess is the same might be true for other schools which are involved in this field. Sucks if you're CME like me...

I had an excellent application. Had interview on 9th Jan, didn't do well (didn't prepare) because I was experiencing a tough divorce and had to move to new apartment. I have lost the chance of the lifetime.
