I emailed a member of the department, and they have already held one round of meetings. They are now finalizing the candidates they wish to offer admission for Fall 2019. The bulk of the decisions have likely been made by this point, but as far as I know nobody has been officially notified. I previously had a phone screening with POI, and I know from talking to others that some drop pretty big hints, but it really depends on the person. My status says "under review" currently. Anyone else hear from Stanford sociocultural? Seems there’s only been one interview invite and it was earlier than usual (January). To the Stanford anthro poster: was it an email from a POI? Are you perhaps a KH Scholar applicant? Any other info? I want to know if I should lose hope yet :) | ||||

International applicant. Received letter stating that I'm waitlisted, and also that international slots are extremely limited. "We frequently are able to offer admission by late March", but I'm not optimistic as I received the same letter from them 2 years ago and was eventually not admitted. | ||||
