Not the original person who commented about it, but maybe they were just looking for different things now than they were when you were waitlisted before. It doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t know what they’re doing. Anyways, congrats on Harvard! Calm down everyone lol.

Are you really trying to argue on Gradcafe? Pretty weird. Normally, I would agree with you. What makes them incompetent is that I was waitlisted 2 years ago and almost got in and didn't this time despite my application being much stronger. Maybe read more carefully next time.

Came to their second interview week (apparently they invited applicants to interview in December for their first interview week then invited more applicants for their second interview week in January???) and was still accepted so don't worry about whether or not you were their first or second week interviewee - they specifically discussed about this during the interview weekend and said that they had 2 weekends due to the large applicant pool and stuff. Anyways, apparently only 25% of the interviewees get accepted. I withdrew my application a few days ago b/c I accepted another offer but still got accepted..

Does someone have any info concerning the waitlist of ucla? it is my only light of hope (10 rejections, 2 implicit rejection, 1 wl). With 2 masters (1 in econ & 1 in maths) I did not except the competition to be so hard... thanks!
