First, admit! 1 Patent, 1 Research Paper, 1 Internship at the top bank as a technical analyst. Top NIT & 8.23/10

3a/1r/4p First rejection which is honestly kind of a relief (great program but 3rd on the list because of program location and faculty specializations). GPA 2.83, Maj GPA 3.03. Strong LORs from a long known fine arts prof, my stochastics prof, and an employer. A few special projects (creating and lecturing at two field related symposiums). Def not surprised but still a little bummed. Had really positive contact with Dr. Yunan Liu so talk to him if you have any questions! Best of luck to the other applicants!

Our experience has shown that the majority of computer science master's degrees awarded at NC State are for the non-thesis Master of Computer Science, commonly referred to as the MCS degree. Accordingly, we make the MCS the default for initial enrollment of all masters students.

Applied for MS - Thesis. However, NCSU admits by default to the MCS program. The email says that you can opt for a thesis after one semester. Extremely happy as I belong to a non-CS background. 1 international publication and 2 national conferences.

Recommended by the department, pending review of materials by graduate school.

Not shocked, just disappointed.

Not too surprised, I know it's a competitive program! Getting off the waitlist doesn't sound promising but I've been accepted elsewhere and this is the most expensive school I applied to, so I'm okay with it. (They said they received over 300 applications this round!)
