Applied PhD and deferred to MSPH

Epidemiology/Biostatistics concentration. Checked website. No email notification.

No email, checked website for decision. First acceptance!

Received an email to check the website. I had lower GRE scores but have two other graduate degrees with 3.9ish GPAs for both. This is the first school I have heard from so far; I applied to 5 programs.

Expected. Didn't have the 2 years work experience. Got into some other great programs, so I'll be fine!

Got into a better school so not too worried!

If other applicants who have received an offer from Columbia but do not want to go there, please tell the school as soon as possible. I'm on the waiting list! Wish all applicants good luck!

No biggie, I didn't have the 'strongly suggested' 2 years of work experience, so I expected this. It can't be the #1 university in the world if it accepts sops like me :P

Rejection letter was generic. Wish they'd explain in detail the application's weak points.

SD. Not shocked (I think I would have been more surprised if I had got in!) The letter was generic, but nice at least.

Oh well - expected this. Rejection letter reads: "unfortunately, the number of applicants exceeded the number of candidates we were able to accept." Oh really? Makes me feel a whole lot better.
