Accepted randomly with no interview. Have to find funding though.

disappointed about the result. Michigan State provides a perfect match with my bg but still rejected me.

Received this email: “Your application has received a favorable review from the School of Social Work Committee. However, because of the tiered review process, this recommendation must be confirmed by the College of Social Science. Then, we must await the final review, official decision, and notification to you from Graduate Admissions. You will receive an email from them once this has been completed. We look forward to formally welcoming you to the Spartan family soon.” Most likely will be accepting their offer. I applied for their Advanced Standing program which begins in Summer 2026.

Received an email from my prospective academic advisor welcoming me to the program (not a formal offer of admission from the graduate school). This is for their summer term, however, I am going to be rejecting their offer as I received another offer from my school of choice.

This was my top choice. I had a very strong profile with many years of research experience and research projects. I don't know what I could have done better to get to at-least to the interview round. Just an Assumptions: There might be many factors such as being international student (Masters from US) - funding might be an issue, no connection made with the faculty before or during the application period. I received an email to check the decision letter at the portal.
