Interview with POI mentioned in SOP

I got contacted by a professor whose research interests do not quite match with mine. Are the interviews for general admission? Was it the case for the posters below?

TTPB: 1 top conference paper in electronic design automation (EDA). 1 top journal paper in ML optimization. 1 top conference paper under review (EDA). participated in 2 international contests and ranked high. Interviewed with a professor from computer architecture. Sorry, I'm not comfortable sharing the initials. Good luck!

To the poster below who got accepted on 22 Jan. Congrats! Could you share your profile, research area and the initials of the professor you mentioned?

Congrats !!! how much Scholarships offered to all Accepted ? Mine is only 5K

Contacted by POI mentioned in the SOP for a skype call on Jan 24th, 2020.

Received an Email from the admission office. Interviewed with a professor not mentioned in SOP when my application was under review.

TTPB: I applied in late November and haven't heard anything yet, international asian.

To the poster who asked about the track, my track is Architecture, Computer Systems, and Embedded Systems (ACSES).

To the UT Austin ECE posts below, what's your track?

Does anyone have not heard back from the university, yet?

To the poster who got an acceptance, Congratulation!! Where did you check your acceptance notice? I mean from which website?

VLSI track, damn shocked with early result

Email from POI last week for a phone interview. Interviewed yesterday and still waiting for the results

To the poster who's asking: no I didn't email the POI. Before nor after the submission. The interview is not required according to the admission office.
