Phone call from Matthew Vollmer. 1a/3w/7r/4p

Phone call. 2 published articles, 4 published creative works, internship at local creative writing journal, award for best student writing in community.

0a/1w/10r/9p I know there's no promise I'll even move up the waitlist, but I really needed this, morale-wise.

Call/voicemail from the assistant director; official letter to come via email in the next couple days. This is for CNF!

Received an email that there was a status update for my application in the portal

Got a call. No word on funding yet so not sure if I can take it, but really excited!

Michener Center. No email, checked portal.

I got an email from the admissions committe, though I found it to be very impersonable. Dear MFA Creative Writing Applicant, I am writing to let you know that we have not been able to recommend you for admission to the Masters of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing at Syracuse University. This is a complicated judgment which depends a great deal on the abilities and opinions of those instructors here who must be able to feel that they could clearly serve the development of your writing. Their consensus not to recommend admission to the program should in no way be interpreted as a discouragement of your writing. I know this news disappoints you, and I want to express my sincere best wishes for success in your alternate plans for graduate study. Thank you for your interest in Syracuse. Sincerely, The Creative Writing Committee Please note: If you do wish to reapply in the future, please do NOT start another online application. Please reach out to [redacted] so that she may instructed you on the process and then we can simply reactivate your graduate application. We will allow you to reapply only once/one more time.

I checked the portal and later saw an email in my junk folder. Two rejections in one day, four total this week. Not going to lie, I really wanted to get into this one, so I'm bummed. 2a/6r/7p.
