Tier 3 institute, 9.89 CGPA, 2yrs work ex

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro

Direct PhD. No publication. Low GPA. But submitted a personal research writing. Had an interview with PI in early Jan. Notified via email in Fed 17th saying I was recommended for admission. Got the offer letter a day after.

So excited and very thankful! This is my first acceptance of the season, and I was absolutely terrified I would not get in anywhere, especially because I started receiving lots of rejections. In case anyone wants to know more details as I know NCSU tends to release decisions rolling according to past years: I applied for the funded MA here for the Rhetoric/Composition track, and I was not alerted my decision came out on my applicant portal. I just happened to realize by logging in and checking today. I was very surprised to see that a decision had been made. There is no details on funding or if I got the assistantship yet, not sure if they are deciding that later or if they already decided the recipients. Hope this is helpful and good luck to everyone waiting on a decision! 1 Admit/1 Waitlist/8 Rejections/8 Pending

Interviewed on 1/31, have not heard back
