My master's GPA is 3.5/4. I published a Q1 paper in a well-known journal (Among the top 20 in Mechanical and Civil Engineering). I can't believe it. I blindly applied to this university at the last second and had no advisor.

Received informal interview request from a Prof. Had a 80min talk and received unofficial acceptance from him with RA position. Received unofficial email from committee two days later, awaiting official offer on portal with exact funding amounts.

Received a mail today that I have been recommended for admission in the MEngME program, pending approval from the Graduate College. Contacted the program director, and she advised that I will receive a formal letter of acceptance soon.

[Ignore the waitlist] . Did anyone get an admission decision from UIUC? waiting more than 3.5 months. No response yet! Do you have any idea when they will release the decision?

Thank god I finally got the result. Three publications, two as 1st author.
