Somewhat surprised, however I received funding from University of Chicago so I'm not too worried about this rejection.

Complex Systems Track

Waitlisted for funding.

Receive the interview but still refused, feel bad

Woot! First acceptance!

Interview offered but declined :)

First school I heard back from... hoping to hear good news from the other 8 schools!

Was told that letters would be sent out a week ago, so was getting nervous... =)

I submitted this application before anyone helped with personal statement revisions, so this was somewhat expected. Just waiting on UT-Austin, UCSB, and FSU. I'm in at ASU, so this was less of a blow than it could have been.

I emailed by POI and she emailed me back with the good news! But... no funding... will be turning down

Nice letter- said I was a top applicant, but ultimately rejected me. They probably should have cited fit, though, as I failed to secure a faculty sponsor who isn't emeritus! Oh well. I have a better fit at other schools, no hard feelings.

To the previous poster: This is the reply from a secretary"The phone call may have been from a colleague of mine who calls some students to determine their English language skills"
