“Very high” on waitlist emphasized

TTPB: thanks! I had interviews in January with two POIs (had previously met both at the UPenn PhD Open House last year) and I reached out for an update on my application

Got notified by the department chair - yet to receive an official letter.

TTPB: congrats! Can you share your timeline? Did you have interviews with POIs?

MEAM & GRASP lab. Super excited! I think offers are going out in the next few weeks, they said that paperwork is going through the dept right now.

same as other waitlist comment, minus the *very top* emphasis

“ I write with mixed news. On the one hand, at the moment we are unable to make you an offer of admission. On the other hand, we have decided to place you *very high on our waiting list*. We are very impressed by your application but because of limited slots and distribution across areas, we are not able to give you better news at this point.” Emphasis is original
