Just finding about this forum. I was informed via email on Thursday (1/27) that I was admitted to the Political Science PhD program. I did not have interviews or prior contact to any faculty members. Research interests: Comparative politics, voting behavior, elections, East Asian politics.

Had a zoom set up, and was given similar packages as others, as well as the opportunity for summer work, and additional fellowships to come in March.

Honestly, I was shocked to get in, since I applied to it early on, way before I edited my statement of purpose. The package is not looking hot however.

Political Psychology.

Just received an email this afternoon. American Politics subfield. This is my favorite program so I guess I will have to wait and see.

IR subfield, generic email to check portal.

Received an email from the dean this morning. Excited for my second acceptance.

2a/0w/0r/23p. Checked the email and saw acceptance from DGS at about 7:20 am PST.

GPA is grad; second time applying and a rejection again. To give some perspective, this time on my CV I had a one peer-reviewed journal publication, a presentation at an academic conference relevant to my area of research, and two MAs to boot, one in Poli Sci. At that point I can only guess the department didn't think my interests fit well enough with their faculty, at least compared to others in the application pool. Thankfully, I have been accepted elsewhere with a generous funding package so this doesn't hurt as much as it could have.

No GRE. MA GPA. Three RA experiences. No pub. AP field. Thought this might be promising but being rejected. Second rejection already. Frustrated..

Subfield IR. Graduate GPA (4/4). I'm starting to feel numb at all those rejections.
