To the poster below who is already at Northeastern, can you share why do you think it's the worst program? What's wrong with NU Chem program? I appreciate your opinion!

Anyone has not heard back from Berkeley yet? It seems like they've sent out a lot of decisions. Gonna assume that I would be rejected soon :(

Top 10% gpa at small/elite LAC. ~1.5 years research but none in the dpt I applied to (ochem). Letter said I would've been accepted but covid reduced positions.

Only applied because current PI works there and suggested it. Worst program I applied to, surprised to see a rejection but it's a crazy year.

Received Acceptance a while ago. Wanted to elaborate on financial package, which is super competitive. >$29,500 over 9 months (instead of over a year), TAing not required. If you choose to be a TA, you can receive 20k-36k on top of the stipend over 2 semesters (so total is between $49,500 - $65,500). In addition, one time $1,000 grant for start up/education costs. This has been by far heads and shoulders above what other programs have offered.

I emailed Rice and this is what I received. “ Thank you for applying to the Chemistry Graduate Program at Rice University. This year we had an exceptional number of strong applicants and have made the majority of the offers. I'm not sure there will be many more offers given at this time. If there are any changes to the status, you will receive an email or call from one of our faculty members.“ I guess the rest of us are going to be rejected. Sad

I applied with good SOP and writing sample. Submitted TOEFL - 94. 4 strong LORs, 2 publications, BSc 2:1 and masters. Got accepted with financial aid in exchange for teaching assistantship.

I got an email that the status is changed. abundant research experience. 1 publication. strong LoR.
