TBP: sorry to say it, but if you haven't heard from UChicago at this point, it is a rejection--there's no "short list" of remaining likely admits. Look at how few rejections have been posted so far (and I say this as someone who hasn't heard anything yet).

TPB: It doesn't make sense at all. There are a few candidates who are waitlisted and there are more candidates (including me) who have never got any message. Maybe the assistant just told a little white lie...

TPB: My rejection letter includes this sentence: “A formal letter of admission to the Master of Arts Program in the Division of the Social Sciences and details about financial aid will be forthcoming from the Social Sciences Dean of Students Office,” which I understood to be an automatic acceptance to MAPSS, no? Won't be taking it either way

TT Chicago PB: May I know which portal did you used? I didn't receive any email so I was wondering where should I try to find the result. Thanks!

TPB: I'm confused by most people who haven't heard from Chicago being on a "short waitlist" as it seems as though no one has gotten a straight rejection, only deferrals to the master's program

TPB: Do you mean to say that the office told you that anyone who has not received any communication (an offer, rejection, or referral to MAPPS) is potentially still a a candidate for an offer? That seems hard to believe.

Just emailed the assistant and got notified that anyone who does not hear from it are on "a very short waitlist" that an offer is very likely to come if someone defer their entry,

First rejection. Can't be upset tho, those who were admitted are insanely talented - congrats!

No email notification, but I randomly checked the portal and saw the decision that was posted today.

TPB: If you haven't heard from Chicago, Yale, MIT, Stanford, SMU, Cornell, ND, Cornell, JH, OSU, Michigan, then you have been rejected. :(
