Unfortunately, the admissions department did not accept my application. I am deeply sad from this news. It is what it is. My background is double major in Math and Econ, with a focus on pure mathematics, taken numerous phd math courses as an undergrad with A/A- marks, RA at Uchicago as well for one of their top researchers, as well as RA experience at my undergrad, and currently in my Master's Econ program. No result as well. Current booth econ also pending, but have friend who has booth pending but dept rejected today. Really not sure what to read in.

Mail to check portal. Great SoP and excellent letters but not a great fit. 2a/4r/1w/3p

A standard e-mail saying I should check the portal.

Compared to last year, when rejection notifications arrived in March, it is much better. Checking one off the list and rolling on.
