As a general rule, it might be wise to not base your rejection letter around the argument "we don't think you'll be successful."

Please let them know if you are accepted and not attending! This is one of my top choices!

This is a repeat post since I spelled the program name wrong (maybe this is why I was wait-listed haha). Anyway, I am wait-listed for the 2nd year in a row, last year I declined 4 other PhD offers (Michigan, OHSU, Utah, Virginia) in hopes of being accepted and was not notified of my rejection until June 15th 2011 by postal mail. They told me last year they only place "5" people on the waiting list but seeing as how 3 people have posted here on Grad Cafe I think they must actually put 10+ on the wait-list.

Apparently we have no chance of getting into this program feeling extremely ripped off and annoyed that they don't put students onto the wait list until March 23rd when they sent out their one acceptance February 24th. To the person who is wait-listed for the 2nd year you must be pissed! They did not even let you know that you were rejected until June 15th!!?!?! That is BS! Lets form a petition to demand our money back!

official letter with the offer was sent on March 21st, tuition waiver + TF $16,5K

I will be accepting Plattsburgh's offer and declining Saint Rose, Hofstra and Adelphi! Hopefully that helps someone on the wait list :)

For those of you who were accepted to Plattsburgh and dont wish to go please notify the admissions office immediately and let them know so that those who are on the waiting list, myself included have a shot. this is my second year applying and ive never wanted something more
