Applied from BA with various publications, reading ability in two non-English modern languages and two ancient languages, lots of talks, four references and had work study/conference moderation experience. Learned: GRE matters least though reflects me well (good at analytic writing, dislike for standardized tests and bad at math--though scored high in formal logic which (probably) compensated), show yourself at your best for the writing sample (translate, be on top of scholarship, use all your philosophical tools, etc) and only get *strong* references (as a professor of mine says). | ||||
