This is by far one of the worst programs I have interviewed for. Starting from the poorly designed group interview process and ending at the lack of response for six weeks post-interview, I do not recommend applying here. There were nearly 35+ people invited to interview over a virtual call for 4 spots, and nearly 10+ people placed in a group interview to answer questions under a short amount of time (3 minutes). The students were very straightforward and seemed nice, but a few talked about how miserable life was working part-time trying to beat the financial costs of living in NYC and covering their own health insurance since TC doesn't cover that (shocker!). Why on earth would anyone like to be placed under that kind of pressure when grad school is already stressful as it is?

Was not accepted for PhD, but was offered EdM program, which I'll be accepting! Best of luck to everyone truly.

Got an email saying I met university requirements and will let me know what the program decides. Anyone else get that?

Decision was made rather quickly after interview...

Received notice I was waitlisted. I've already accepted another offer of admission so I'm going to be taking my name off the list. I hope this helps anyone else who was waitlisted!

PsyD program. I was invited to have my application sent to the Master's program for review.

Emailed to check the portal. I was conditionally accepted if I take 2 psychology classes at the undergraduate or graduate level. No funding information. I have been accepted with scholarships at other schools, so I will most likely not be attended.

Emailed by graduate director day after Skype interview. Offer given with a $250 deposit. Will reject due to no funding available and no assistantships within department available. Taking offer from different PhD program.

Applied for PhD in CoPSYC but offered MA in Mental Health Counseling. Declining because program is $90,000 and funding is not offered.

Automated email. Rejected for PhD in CoPSYC but offered MA in Mental Health.

to poster below: I was waitlisted post interview and haven't heard anything. I did have a response from my poi about how the process of waitlist works about 3 weeks ago, but nothing since. Fingers crossed some movement starts soon as decisions for acceptance are due soon!

The previous post about the interview is also mine. For future reference, the writing sample questions are pretty basic. The one I chose to do was write about your biggest challenge and the steps you took to overcome them. Another option was why are you interested in counseling psychology? About an hour and a half after my interview, I received the acceptance email. Super happy!

Has anyone heard from the combined school and counseling program? accepted, denied, or waitlisted?

I was notified on the website that "Decision made...you will be notified by mail or email..." and then at 11PM, i got an email saying I was rejected. Sucky system to be so anxious all day - was pretty sure it meant rejection, but a confirmation earlier would've been nice. Notes: I was a Marketing undergrad, so I think that had to do with me being rejected - maybe Psychology majors were picked over? I'm a little confused since I went above and beyond their requirements. But oh well!
