Received a warm e-mail informing me of my wait list status. Playing me like a fiddle!

I had asked about the fiction decisions below and ended up calling my admissions representative to see what was up. For anyone wondering about fiction, she said that the department had not yet released their decisions.

No word yet on how long the wait list is or what my spot is on it. They received more than 500 fiction applications for 10 spots.

Has anyone heard anything about fiction?

Expected. Me dunz: 2a/0w/10r. Tbh, I made errors on 10 out of the 12 manuscripts that I sent in (not that I didn't read then reread the stories--because I did, so many times--but you know how those tricky extra words sneak in....). Take a guess which programs accepted me. I don't know if this means I would have a better shot next year if I made 100% sure my manuscripts were error-free, but for all others out there who maybe made mistakes on their apps, know it's not just you. It's me too (sobs 4 days).

For those accepted to Chapman: Is it worth attending without funding? Intimidated by the debt, but love the program.

Got a phone call from program director this morning. Pretty sure all initial offers were made and I got in when someone turned down an offer.

Received an email an hour ago that I was in the top 60 out of 500 applicants and that they can't disclose my place on the waitlist, but that 5 accepted students have already accepted their spots and 5 are still unconfirmed.

Emailed to check status, was told I didn't make it but was in the top 30 out of ~500.

Called for status update, verbal rejection. She said they will be sending out a form rejection letter to everyone today via email.

Accepted off the wait list!

To the person inquiring about GMU, I too have not received any information about my application status despite mailing them.

Called and Catherine said that I would receive something by e-mail by end of week. Sounds like a rejection - not sure - but any closure would be good at this point.

I called the department last Friday and was told that I was not on their waiting list, so I don't think that it's secret.

To the person who posted question re: Boston University fiction program: check out the Fall 2017 MFA forum. Someone posted that they'd called the BU program admin and were told that all 10 offers had been made; the "wait list" is perhaps "secret"?
