"I regret to inform you that your application for admission to the University of California, Santa Barbara Department of Physics for Fall 2026 has been denied. Every year we have many more excellent candidates than we are able to accommodate, requiring us to make difficult decisions. Sometimes even outstanding applicants cannot be admitted. We appreciate your interest and regret that the decision could not have been more favorable. We wish you the very best in your educational endeavors."

Did not receive any app updates until being denied on 3/19/2026.

I had completely given up! Received a email few minute back....

Had to reach out to them first. If you have multiple offer, kindly start turning down the schools now for the sake of others.

Initial acceptance offers have been sent out
