I got in! I am so stoked! Top choice!

Applied to the Religion, Gender and Culture area.

This is a very highly competitive program; although it would've been nice to have been offered admission, I've been offered admission to the University of Virginia, another high-ranking program.

I did not receive an email notifying me a decision was made. I simply went to check and it said a decision was made. No word on financial aid offerings yet.

Has anybody heard anything back from Penn? Any interviews or decisions?

Interview was today 2/23

Interviewed in early February, email from POI stating she has accepted another student and I have not been recommended for admission.

We received over seventy-two applications for admission to our Graduate Ph.D. Program for the 2018/2019 academic year. Unfortunately, resources allow us to admit only two or three students every year. While we were impressed with some aspects of your application, your materials indicated that you were not competitive with the top applicants.

I bit the bullet and called. They've alerted people they've admitted (6) and wait-listed. They're holding off on sending rejections to see how many folks decide against accepting offers, but likelihood of being in this program starting in the fall seems minuscule if you didn't hear news by today.

POI called 2.20.18 to ask about my thoughts on a project. Two days later called back with official acceptance. VERY EXCITED!! /// Will be getting 3 yrs funding but specifics not in writing yet. /// Average undergrad GPA. High Master's GPA. Lots of relevant experience/jobs/reports/good recs/coming out of a higher ranking planning program. zero publications.

Received an email telling me to check my status through the application website. No information about funding in the email, though, as it seems they only make funding decisions after students enroll
