To the poster below, I received admission from them via email on February 1st. I haven't had any correspondence with them before or after that.

To the posters below asking about deferment, I called Viterbi's admissions office today and as best as I can remember, the answer was something like, "We make summer offers based on what you indicate on your application. If you would like to appeal to start in the fall, you can email our office requesting so and explaining your reasons. We cannot guarantee you will be permitted to defer to the fall, but we do understand that there can be extenuating circumstances that come up." So, not guaranteed, no formal appeal form or anything. Dude was super nice.

Has anyone heard back from UCSD for Masters' 18? I haven't heard anything. School hasn't responded to emails yet?

Can anyone shed some light on the decision process of USC MSCS? I have seen many people get accepts and some rejects this year. Last year people got admits till April as well. Do they roll out in phases or something?

To the poster below, I don't know of any formal pipeline with which to go through. I plan on calling admissions tomorrow to just ask about it, because the way it was worded in the application made me think "I am interested" meant "I am open to the option" and not "This is my preference over fall" lol

To the poster below with 3.97 GPA, I too have an MS CS (S&E) USC admit and might want to defer to Fall '18. How will you contact USC for deferment? Mail them or is there a formal pipeline in place? Also, how strong should be the reason to defer?

Admitted to start early in the summer, but will ask to defer to fall if possible. Will be receiving official acceptance letter within 48-72 hr of the email.

Did anybody hear about the results? Did they release the notifications or the process is still ongoing? I am very gutted right now :(
