Looks like a lot of us got waitlisted. Still hoping to make it!

Has anyone heard anything back from UNLV?

Great phone call from the director! Full funding and TA-ship! I'm so excited for this opportunity!

Convo w/Akhil Sharma. Cohort (8) will be majority p.o.c. Although this may rankle some, reparations come in many forms.

Poster, can you share the email you received? Is February 9th when everyone will be notified or just acceptances?

Anyone else still waiting after the 'strong consideration' email?

Bummed. Banking on Hunter and Queens. Congrats to those who got in. Also, shout out to everyone here for trying to bring art and beauty into the world. That's kinda cool, right? \m/

Email to check website. Form rejection letter.

Some people can afford the cost of tuition and already live in the city.

I was accepted to Columbia last year and ... declined. Among published writers who teach there, it's not that well regarded, mostly as a sinecure not as prestigious. To the person who pointed out the rigor (60 units vs. 25 --) that maybe not accurate comparison since it's also three and up to five years plus... HOUSING. Is this "whining"? Or, folks trying to articulate the pointlessness of trying to get ahead vis a vis schools that don't / won't / cant' offer post-graduate employment or, if publication, only probably far down the road? These are ***contests*** people, & the whiff of desperation that you smell here is something like Vegas around 4 a.m. ... cause not everyone's a winner and, sorry to burst your bubble, the game is rigged.

Email from Catherine that fiction decisions should be sent by April 9th. There have been a "whopping" amount of fiction applicants.

Nice of the dept. to let you know ahead of the official letter, I guess... 1a/0w/9r

Welp, there goes my last shot at full funding :( 1a/0w/8r

Email to check status on website.

To the poster below: I'm also pretty surprised Columbia slots get filled considering the price tag. Maybe some think the degree is worth going into debt for? Though don't most people say it isn't worth it? Also, is it weird that my portal hasn't been updated yet? I'd like to look at the numbers for myself, but right now I'm only hanging onto what I was told on the phone. I'd love to go, but...

I'm really happy, but funding is questionable--No scholarships were mentioned over the phone. To the poster below, how were you able to check you financial aid package? What portal did you use? (2r/1a/2??)
