To those who are rejected by all programs, will you apply for both master's and PhD in sociology next fall?

Rejected by 13/14 soc phd programs, the one acceptance is terribly bad and no funding... Hope all of you have better luck than me

TTPB: Could you let us know if you received the email from the professor or there was an update to your application portal? Are you the one who posted you were interviewed earlier? I was also interviewed but still haven't heard back from them.

no one has been given the seat. They're waiting to see the yield rate from their acceptance offers prior to offering waitlisted applicants a seat. I believe their admitted students day is this coming weekend, so maybe people will make their decisions after that. If you're going to decline the offer, please do so quickly . . .

Anyone heard back from the waitlisted pool? I see someone declined an offer but I have not heard anything.. So wondering if someone else got that seat?

TTPB: The joint program that you talk about is JD-PhD. It's a different joint program from MORS-Sociology. Since MORS-Sociology is funded by Kellogg, I believe that they are still accepting new students this year.

TTPB: I just checked the admissions page of Northwestern's Sociology Department and there is an announcement saying that they aren't taking on new PhD students this year, including for the joint programs. I am not sure when this announcement was made, but I had not know about this update because it wasn't explicitly noted on the Kellogg admissions website (they also should have removed the option on the application portal). To be honest, I think the school should refund our application fee: because I don't think our apps were even processed at all. Not sure which school we should email about this though.

Anyone knows if they have sent out all offers? Dont see much here.
