Rejected, option to carry-over application to Fall 2016

moved my application to fall 2016

Will finish B.S. at Penn State this December.

Chemical Eng Undergrad, Mechanical Eng Grad (GPA: 3.91)

Asked me to check out programs at harrisburg... No thanks:P

Emailed them asking about status, got reject! Waste of money and time

Too late. Apparently it is a VERY DIFFICULT JOB for them to send out the decision letter EVEN THROUGH EMAIL.

Very generic email saying that they had to narrow down to approximately 30 students from about 600 applications. Had applied on 22nd Dec, 2014; disappointed with the huge delay in communicating the decision.

Called them up just now, the lady said that probably the decisions will be out by May end! Man, are you kidding me?

Has anyone heard back from the department??

Had written to the graduate admissions, got the following reply," I have sent out a call to all faculty to see if they are still considering any applications.   I will be sending out the final decisions by Wednesday, May 6, 2015." if the rejection was in place, why take so long to run this charade???

I asked them about my status. This is what I received : Thank you for your inquiry. The majority of decisions for Fall 2015 have been made for MS and PHD. The deadline for the M ENG degree is April 30th. Applicants who applied for the MS degree are being considered for the new 1 year M ENG program. Applicants will find out the final decision within a week.

To the Penn poster below - Spoke with the graduate coordinator who told me that they were still reviewing applications. If you haven't received any information yet, your application is probably still under review. Don't lose hope!
