Very formal email notifying me to check my portal status. Thought it was going to be a rejection, wow! Good luck everyone!

1a/0r/3p Full funding with TAship and fellowship. Cross-posted on Draft.

Received a delightful phone call in the morning, and our conversation was great!

I sent an email asking for my status. I was told I was on the waitlist. 4a/1w/1r/4p

Form letter with handwritten message from Sam Chang saying "thanks for your application"

Honestly a little surprised. 1a/3w/5r/7p

Short rejection; a little surprising because I went to undergrad at WVU and had recommendations from within the university. Best of luck to others though!

Very polite rejection email with information on their Low-Residency program attached.

same deal as the posters below... the email is ambiguous, but seems to be a waitlist notification. either way, i'm grateful to them for touching base and breaking up all this dead air a little. 0a/1w/2r/4p

Letter dated 3/1

Email to check portal.

Accepted via email with a note that a phone call will come in a few days with more info, and a letter for official acceptance and funding info. 1a/3r/0w/4p

Fiction is full at Iowa. If you haven’t gotten a call, you are most likely rejected, with a very small chance of being waitlisted. All these will be coming via postal service in the mail. Not saying this to be a downer, but just so people aren’t waiting around in dread, unsure of the end result here.

Has anyone else heard nothing so far from Iowa? No email, call, or snail mail.

Called the program office to find out because I saw notifications had been going out and I need to respond to my other acceptances within the next couple of days. Oh well. I think I already knew where I want to go though. 6a/1r/0w/0p

I got the same waitlist-seeming email from Bowling Green. I wasn't sure what it meant at first either, it's not really explicitly stated, but toward the end, it does very much seem like a waitlist letter. I did ask a couple questions for clarification. If that's the case: 2a/1r/1w/1p

Waitlisted...I think. The email didn't explicitly state that, but it sure seemed to imply it. And a post on MFA Draft about it showed I'm not the only one who was unsure what the email meant.

Funding package to come next week.
