No words about funding.

To the response below: Thanks for the explanation! Do you think I can / should contact the CS department directly to enquire about my decision? Does the fact that I have not received an accept or reject mean I am on hold and might receive a decision in the next phase of results? Thanks!

To the USC Computer Science poster below: I think the application is first evaluated by the general admission committee of USC to check if you meet the minimum criteria, and whether or not your application is worth reviewing by the CS department. If you meet the basic academic requirements then they send your application to CS department, where it will be reviewed by the department's admission committee. Good luck.

Can anybody shed light on this response I received in return for my inquiry. I wanted to know what my application status is. "Thank you for your inquiry. We have completed our academic evaluation of your application and notified your intended graduate department. Because of the varied factors involved in the graduate department review process, we cannot give you an estimate of when you might expect the decision."
