Personal email from professor. Scared, but very excited to see how it goes!

"While your application materials indicated your credentials are strong, the faculty interests and curricula available in our department do not match those suggested in your materials and would, therefore, not be an appropriate fit for our department."

Received 14k per year. Will probably turn down.

Same as the poster below. Second year being rejected with a personal email.

Second year of being rejected from UCSB. I got a very classy email from a POI letting me know before the impersonal letter goes up on the site.

High GPA, GRE scores and one year wk experience. 10k a year funding

E-mail to check website. Accepted! Good luck to the others!

I received a notification from NYU stating that my application decision will be ready on March 5th. Does NYU typically send out mass waves of rejections?

Also got the 3/5 email, so nice of them to give us a heads up of when to expect the rejection email!!

"Graduate Enrollment Services posted the decision for your Fall 2018 application on your application status page on March 05, 2018. Please log into your application to view the decision." Well, my weekend is now filled with this sense of impending doom & gloom.

3.5 years of work experience abroad, good LORs, 2nd language. 16k fellowship renewable for 1 year

Originally got a call and email saying I was accepted and would get an official email later. NOTE: My original acceptance letter had funding included, but that was apparently a technical issue and that decision will be released next week.

Damn Yale, you're tough. 3 excellent LORs, extensive East Asian Studies background including at Ivy League for undergrad and several years work experience in China. Congratulations to everyone accepted!

European applicant. Informal email telling me I'd be receiving an official offer letter soon. I thought it'd be another two weeks or so before I'd hear back, so I was really surprised when the email arrived. But very pleased, of course!
