I got into Medill, NYU and Columbia. Not sure how I can pick. Any suggestions are welcome.

I got into most universities I applied to. But I have narrowed down to Columbia, the Magazine Specialisation in Medill and the Magazine Writing Program in NYU. I feel that all three programs are on par. They each have their advantages. I like that the other two are more specialised but the Columbia name holds more weight. Any tips on which would be better?

Has anyone received financial information from Medill yet? It was supposed to come in the mail apparently, but I haven't gotten anything!

I was overjoyed to be accepted to this program, but with no help in defraying costs that's just not feasible.

I'm incredibly excited to join the Magazine Writing concentration! Anybody know if there are any Facebook groups for admitted/future students?

Posted earlier about being accepted ("$100k is not worth it") to say that I also received a $30k scholarship. For those wondering about funding: I received an email right after the acceptance with a link to look at scholarship funding. You should be able to log into your student account and see what your aid is.

To the poster below: I’m in a similar boat w/ similar funding from both Columbia and NYU but I’m actually waiting to hear from CUNY most importantly. As I got such good results from the other two I’m hoping to get really good funding from CUNY and would choose that in that case. Have heard so much about how the name of the uni means so little nowadays, it’s more about the real life experience...

I'm torn. Columbia with $30K or NYU with 2/3 semesters covered? NYU's program is longer and more specialized (pluses for me), but I get the sense that the Columbia name holds more weight. Help?

20k of funding, not sure I'll go but beyond excited! I applied to Stabile, but didn't get in to that one.

Just received an acceptance about an hour ago. Was incredibly validating, but I've already declined due to having just accepted a fully funded offer at a different school! Hope this helps alleviate stress for anyone that was waitlisted. $100k is definitely not worth it, and I'm sure others feel the same!

Got in to Columbia!!! Waiting for scholarship decision. If anyone’s discouraged by a low GPA or average stats,work on other parts of your application and experience and go for it! You can do it :) don’t be discouraged.
