Was going to pay Gatech's MSCS tuition lol. Got funding package 44k per year and option to continue to PhD. Interviewed on Jan. Originally told won't be offered but things work out! So thrilled!

1 Publication, 2 Conferences, 2 Years Work Ex.

Please do not waste your time and resources to apply to this program. As they don't even bother a respectful and on-time rejection. After several months of waiting and telling me I am on the waitlist because my application is impressive. On the verge of all schools decision deadline, they didn't even bother to send a template nice rejection. The coordinator emails me at last minute and in the email all she says is "The faculty have decided not to offer you admission to the PhD program here at the UofA, as they did not find your application competitive." Really, the worst way of rejecting someone who has waited this long.

To the poster below, I have the exact same status. The POI told me that he has accepted me and I should wait for the official announcement from the university. It has been 2 weeks now.

My POI notified me of my acceptance but the status hasn't been updated on Quest since last 24 days. I didn't even recieve mail today regarding the portal updation. Is it advisable to mail the POI or wait till the end of April ?

To the post below, I have yet to hear back from Columbia as well. It's a bit ridiculous that they set these timelines and have no intention of meeting them.

Has anyone heard anything from Columbia??

Called the department today asking about when to expect a decision, and they said I should know by early next week, so I'm going to accept my other offer. I know the USC deadline for accepting/declining an offer is May 15, but this seems like a rejection to me. Hopefully this helps everyone else who's still waiting to hear back from USC.

Non-C.S. major, two years of post-bacc work in computer science and physics with high GPA, no publications, no work experience, currently involved in research.

Top tier undergrad school in CS, 1 publish, 2+ years exp in computer vision and machine learning. Guess I was rejected because of my low GRE. Very disappointed.

I too got the note today: "Regarding your Computer Science Graduate Studies application for Fall 2018, please be advised that your application results will be available by the end of April. Updates are not provided until a decision has been made, at which time Quest will be updated. "

My application status has changed to final review. Does it mean good? I had not any interview

Since I had not heard a response, I called the CS department today to ask about my application status. He looked up my application, and I was unfortunately rejected. He said that there was no waitlist and that notifications of rejections would be sent out early next week.

Initially waitlisted but suddenly got a generic rejection mail after status in the application portal changed to "decision made". I am not giving up. Have other applications pending elsewhere though.
