No love lost here in this rejection, I am on the wait listing at my top choice school and it's not in the Midwest, thank Jupiter. Good luck to all those admitted. If I decide that I want to live in a place with the most terrible weather ever, I will retake the GREs and apply again next year.

Checked the website, no interview, etc. Letter said the university could not accommodate my [academic] plans. Strange, considering they're hiring a second person for my (pre-modern Chinese) field and have a cluster which focuses on it (Asian studies). Oh well, not a surprise.

Interview via phone with secondary POI. Most likely will not attend since their Romanist (Marco Ruffini) just left.

Interview via Skype with 4 faculty. Had been invited to Recruitment weekend but was unable to attend.

Checked website: "Your file has been forwarded to the Graduate Committee for review." I have seen other posts about folks receiving interview invites so I am assuming I will be rejected.
