I applied way back, I guess in Nov. Also mailed the POI. He replied few days back and we talked on email. Today he gave me the final word of getting accepted and that he'll recommend my profile.

Interesting acceptance below. I got an mail on 30 my application is complete and on 7 Jan you got a reply you got accepted.... Interestinggggg. Though I believe this might be spam, but who sent you offer letter? You area of research.

No interview, GPA: 3.75/4.00 (converted), 3 research projects, strong LORs and SOP

Done for this graduate season. Though results have yet not been announced. I am expecting a reject. Having a bad profile, low gpa, average reco. I will not try to make myself live in fairy world. I know I am getting rejected for sure.

TTPB on acceptance on Masters at MIT: How is this even possible? I guess they usually come back to you by Feb. I have seen few to none getting accepted this fast. I mean it is possible (maybe for internal students ig) idk. But whats your area of research? Who gave you this acceptance? Mail sent by graduate administrator or PI or any other prof.?

Received a phone call from the professor I worked with last summer notifying me that I was admitted.

Received a mail quoting application complete and will receive a decision by 1 March 2021.

To the person who commented below, I am so sorry you had to go through this experience. I wish you all the strength and power to overcome this. More power to you! I feel there is more to life than getting into a top tier grad program. Your mental and physical health comes first before everything.

To the post below: I am sorry to here about your condition. If grad school is what you want to do then you should probably work on your mental state first because that is of most importance. You should not let the rejections bring you down, being rejected is a normal part of life. Also, if a rejection is your worry I would apply to some easier schools to get in, perhaps they accept you. At the end of the day, if grad school is what you want to do, I am sure you'll like it even if you do not go to a top tier school. Good luck
