Received better offers elsewhere so taking myself off the waitlist.

To the ND posters below, are you guys fiction or poetry? The person who was waitlisted last year, can you give us so info on the waitlist last year? Number of waitlisters etc.

High on the list. The wait list is split (high and low pools).

Got a congratulatory phone call and informed that formal admission emails will go out tomorrow or Monday. After a clean sweep of rejections last year, this season has been the most pleasant surprise. 1a/2w/3r/2p

Other Notre Dame WL'ers - are you likely/certain to attend if you get off WL?

E-mail notifying me decision was ready. 2nd year in a row on WL - was on last year until 11th hour (literally) of deadline.

Found out by emailing them.

I got the same email as the past two people who posted - an invitation to submit info for a background check. Not counting my chickens yet but hopeful! Good luck everyone!

Call with acceptance offer. Official email with funding and other info to follow. 1a/2r/6p

Just got word that I am going to be fully funded through a TA position! (Accepted on 1/31)

Was just notified that I'm on a wait list for funding. I'm devastated, as this was my top-choice program. I know it's a shot in the dark, but I'm hoping just enough people turn down their offers to allow me to go... :/

To the posters below: I received the same email you did, also without ever being notified as to admission status. I was confused and so I reached out to Marnie Leonard, asking her what it meant. I wrote: "Thank you for letting me know. I wasn't aware that I was accepted to the MFA program to preclude me being considered for a GTA. Does this mean I have been accepted, or is this merely a preliminary item?" She replied, "This is preliminary and, although I can't specify more, you are welcome to draw a logical conclusion. 😊" Like with the happy face at the end. I'm taking that as an informal acceptance, but you guys sure don't have to, I understand not wanting to count chickens before they hatch. Let me know what you think. I cant imagine them bothering to run background checks on unadmitted people.
