has anyone heard anything back yet?

From my understanding, the interview is basically a sanity check. Can the applicant string a sentence together? Yes? Ok, now back to their resume.

Received an email for an interview with 2 faculty members.

TPB: That is weird because the interviewer explicitly mentioned in the beginning that "you're not being evaluated" and that the interview will not play a role in the final decision. If that is true and if they're only accepting 2-3, why are they even interviewing all 10 of us? Guess we'll find out soon enough

Yes, I asked the interviewer explicitly. The interviewer also said that they will not be giving out "over-offers" this year (i.e., they only give out the exact # of offers as students they can accept). In most years they'll send out extra offers because inevitably people will decline to attend a different school (which might leave them with an unusually large class size). But this year, they'll only send out additional offers if people decline before the April 15 deadline.

Does any one was rejected after interview? I was invited to interview but don't know my exact chances and what do expect.

TPB: 2-3 spots out of 10? Did you ask the interviewer this explicitly? I didn't and I got the impression that they were going to take most of us...

I was interviewed last Wednesday for the development track. They said they were interviewing 10 candidates to fill 2-3 spots so it's pretty depressing.... especially since the email made it sound very likely we would get in.

They said decisions should be out in the 1st or 2nd week of February.

Did anyone who had their interview heard back yet?

TTPB: I have been told that they interview all of their short-listed candidates. However, I don't think they have sent their interview invites yet.

Completely gutted. Thought I was a shoe-in after an interview (my main POI was not an interviewer, but two secondary POIs were). Good luck to everyone else.

TTPB: I haven't heard back from them since I finished the interview. sth doesn't sound quite right here. they are making decisions based on both pools: round1&2 peeps; then what is the priority deadline for?
