Accepted with full tuition and a stipend just above $12,000/year. No word yet about a waiver for the out-of-state surcharge for Ohio U (~$8,000/year).

I got an e-mail saying that my application would be re-evaluated against candidates who applied by the March deadline. I applied by the January deadline. Is there anyone else who applied and already got an offer? Does someone know this situation? Or did anybody hear from re-evaluations before?

Hi poster below - yes I was accepted for the MSc (but for Hebrew, not Arabic, which I assume is considerably less competitive). That really sucks that you have all that experience and obvious passion. Who knows! I hope that you are successful regardless - perhaps try straight for a PHD in the U.S? I'm sure your passion for MMES will continue unabated and with your credentials you will get snapped up :)

To the person below who got rejected for the MPhil in MMES: your outlook on life is great - I'm sure you will go far and be very happy :) [I have no idea on what basis they decide not to accept excellent candidates such as yourself, but maybe because it's MMES, they want people who have demonstrated a strong MMES interest with travel, work etc? So (completely assuming you haven't already) maybe if you spend extensive time in the region this will ensure an acceptance if you decide to give it another go? There are lots of orgs you can volunteer with etc] All the best.

Found the email in my spam folder (luckily) and then was led to the website login for the acceptance letter. Minority US applicant with french fluency. Attended a second-tier university, decent GPA. A few years out of undergrad though might've made the difference for me - extensive experience working abroad, a Princeton in Asia fellowship, and a UN internship. No funding but planning on applying for other scholarships and attending.

To the person asking for my area of study: I work in biblical studies, particularly ancient translations. My specialization is in the Septuagint, which is the Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament.

Accepted with tuition waiver and partial scholarship. Will probably attend! Unless very significant funding comes through from other schools.

GPA is MFA. Email to check status in portal.

To the posts asking about UMD American Studies: I emailed the DGS and she said that rejection emails will be coming soon. If you haven't heard from them in late Jan-early Feb, you will most likely receive a rejection email soon.

Just to add - I also haven't heard back, so I called Georgetown GSAS today. They said that some programs are releasing unofficial decisions early to people who have reached out to the programs directly, but their early unofficial notification is not indicative of priority and nothing is official until Friday when they'll release all the results. No worries!

No interview. Very high GPA from Canadian schools. Master's Degree in specific field; thesis in specific proposed area of dissertation. New research.

Hello posters, dont freak out. Decisions will apparently be released on Friday. People who know already know because someone called them. Georgetown lets everyone (except those called or international students) know on the same date. I know someone who was called and they said decisions are coming Friday the 16th.

Was told that they hoped to be in contact with me soon and that they had interest in my application but space needed to let up. Email also said they'd let me know after April 20th what their definitive answer will be. Good luck to everyone!
