I was on the subway, minding my own (sad and depressed because of one more unknown MFA reply) business, when Leslie Epstein called me on my mobile. I think I got off the train. Well, I must have. I think I said "OMG" about twenty times (facepalm). We had a lovely chat (well, Mr Epstein was lovely on the phone while I could barely put two words together from the shock and the emotion and whatnot). And I accepted the offer. And I still can't believe it. All the best to all applicants, I know the wait is horrifying. Impossible things do happen, though, and you will get into the program of your dreams. (4a/0w/1r/0s)

To the PIBS poster below: were you officially waitlisted by the school? I have been waiting to receive status on my application since forever. No interview. No response to my email.

Has been on the waiting list since February (without interview), sent several emails to ask for an update and never heard back. Start to think that this 'high-hold waiting list' is just another way as rejection.... (and make people still hoping... what a joke)

Accepted w/o funding. Will not be accepting because I have a fully funded PhD acceptance elsewhere.

Accepted to MA with 50% funding "We think that this program would be a good match for your background and interests. Although there are no guarantees for the future, you would be able to apply again to the PhD program in a subsequent year".

Got an offer from Mathematical Finance PhD program with full funding offer ($33k for 5 years). Didn't have an interview, so this was quite unexpected. I actually have numerous better offers, so will likely decline. I still thank BU for giving their offer! They have many promising junior faculties to work with.

anyone knows when BU will make the final decision? I have waited for a long time......

Accepted to MA program, waiting on funding info

To the poster below, it sounds like you know more than I do as I hadn’t heard that they had sent acceptances. May I ask where you heard that? This is a personal note, but I’m assuming if I haven’t heard yet it’s a rejection. That is not based on any qualitative data but this late in the game not sure why I wouldn’t have heard.

Received a rejection letter at 11:30 AM EST on March 22nd, 2019.

So sad.

applied feb 27th, received admit on 18th march

To the MSCS posts below: When did you guys submit your applications and after how many weeks were you notified of the decision?

Any news?
